Winter hazel. Being a family member of the witch hazel this shrub does best on neutral to acidic soils.
Flowers abundantly on the bare stems with scented, soft yellow flower racemes in the early spring (March-April).This shrub may look like the Corylopsis pauciflora, but this one grows larger and grander.
