Aronia melanocarpa 'Hugin'
Local name: Choke Berry
A small shrub that most certainly suited is for a shrub border in a 'Natural Garden'. The shrub is extremely healthy, flowers well, and produces lots of berries in the autumn (=birds!) and to finish the list off a spectacular autumn visual. The berries can be processed into jams or juices.
'Hugin' flowers circa three weeks later than other Aronia's, and is one the smallest of all the varieties. Abundant flowering and a good yield. 1 to 1.50 meters in height.
